Leona's "Echo" - Reflection Of Sound

Just bought my long-anticipated album, Echo on its first day of release (16.11.09). Without doubt, her vocal performance is still impressive and the songs are really nice in overall. The employment of an assortment of co-writers, including Justin Timberlake and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder make the album more diverse and current. It's also been revealed that the song- "My Hands" will be an official theme song for Final Fantasy XIII.

Track List:
1. Happy
2. I Got You
3. Can’t Breathe
4. Brave
5. Outta My Head
6. My Hands
7. Love Letter
8. Broken
9. Naked
10.Stop Crying Your Heart Out
11.Don’t Let Me Down
12.Alive
13.Lost Then Found (Featuring OneRepublic)
After the huge success from her first debut album "Spirit" which sold millions worldwide, there have been so much expectations on her following album. Although there are some disappointment about her new album out there, but she really did her best!!! Those people obviouly don't have much taste in good music! Don't put so much pressure on her, just give her a break!

Echo may lack a moment as transcendent as 'Bleeding Love', but it's more cohesive, more consistent and more contemporary-sounding than her debut. It will be interesting to see how Lewis - still remarkably callow as a live performer - tackles these grandiose songs on her first arena tour next year. Can't wait for her concert in London next June! Just be HAPPY, Leona~

Bonfire Night In Oxford!

In Britain, the night of 5 November when people light bonfires and have fireworks to celebrate the failure of the plan in 1605 to destroy the parliament buildings with explosives. There will be lots of fireworks display throughout the country this weekend. Without exception, Oxford's sky was lit up by the fireworks for more than 15 minutes long last night while I was eating my dinner in my room.

Viewed from my room:

"Here comes the finale!"

“吃著手中熱騰騰的泡面,望著窗外燦爛的煙火,十足的感官享宴,心裏洋溢著幸福,我要好好珍惜這一切!”

London Trip (30.10.09)

For this half-term break, my friends and I decided to took a day off to London for a long-craved shopping spree. Our gang leader, Lynne always booked the train ticket for us, just £2.65 per way this time!

Reached our destination, London Paddington Station.

London underground tube...the train is coming! Going to Oxford Circus, our first planned location.

First stop: Oxford Circus Station.

First shop we had seen when we went out from the Oxford Circus Station, Topshop! New floors opening!

Really huge, 4-floors Nike store so it's called "Niketown"

Designing your own Nike shoes!

London Carnaby Street...in search of restaurant for lunch...all restaurants are full!

Regent Street

Waiting to meet with a Thailand classmate and his friend in Piccadilly Circus...

In the end, we settled our lunch in Chinatown!

Then, we headed to Harrods. It's so dark already at 5.00pm!

Looks like Sunway Pyramid copy this Egyptian-style designing concept...

There are so many rules to shop in the "world's most famous luxury department store": ensure all clothing is clean and presentable and that shoes are worn,  no food, no drinks, and have to keep moving!!! It's so embarrasing that my friends and I actually get urged by a security to keep moving while we r standing and chatting at the main door. He said that we'r blocking the way and the point is there was not much people there at that time!

Having some snacks and ice-cream in McD.

It's time to get back but we were shocked to see the station closest to where we were was sealed! Well, that's definitely not part of our plan and we didn't expected it to happen...we do not have much time left before the train back to Oxford leave!!! We rushed as fast as  possible to the next station and got the underground train back to Paddington Station. But we found out we got on the wrong line! We switched the train and got back to Paddington at the very last minute before the train left! We almost missed the train back and that the most exciting part of the trip! We rushed the whole way through with hands full shopping bags and seems like everyone was looking at us! Embarassed moment but it's fun to run through crowded London streets, underground, and railway stations! In this London trip, I just bought a new phone, some clothes and accessories...but time together with my buddies is the most memorable thing!

This is what it will happen for someone who gets too bored and turns insane on train!

New Phone!!!

Before the next week half-time holiday and before the trip with friends to London on next Friday, I'm gonna get this new Sony Ericsson Satio as soon as possible because I basically have no camera nor phone with good camera functions right now! (But it cost £399.95)

The Satio is certainly a prime example of a top-class transformer, with some good stats:
- The signature 12.1 megapixel camera with Xenon LED flash, up to 12x digital zoom, face and smile detection, image stabiliser etc...and intuitive touch focus that gives you stunning, high-resoultion shots you'll want to blow up big and keep! It has a secondary VGA camera too... No phones on market now can top that one!
- Touch-screen with razor-sharp 3.5", 16:9 ratio screen with 16 million colours.
- SanDisk microSD™ support up to 32 GB
- Battery life: 340 stand-by hours
- With Symbian Series 60, 5th edition

All in all there is no doubt that this is a top class handset and it could well send a shockwave through the market! Can't wait to get it next week!

It's a huge relief after the UCAS application! There is so much dedication of time and hard work in it to get the application done. Thanks for the assistance and encouragement from my friends and my tutor...I really appreciate it. I really wish I can get the offers from any of them, successfully get into the university I want! This is all I want now...God please bless me~

1. King's College London (University Of London)
2. University Of Manchester
3. Cardiff University
4. University Of Sheffield
5. University College London

Warwick Trip (Mid-Autumn)

Together with all the A-level students, we went to Warwick by bus today. It took an hour and half to reach our destination - University Of Warwick. The university campus is really beautiful and it balances the calm and beauty of the countryside with the buzz of a social and vibrant community. It is really huge and we literally got lost while searching for the main campus. Within the school compound, cinemas, shops, banks, bars, restaurants, art centre can be found. It's really convenient to study here...but they dont't offer medicine and dentistry course!!!

Vietniamese girls

"Please stop to keep on saying that u like me...I know it already!"

Art Centre

Chemistry Department

"Miss Yang, is it that cold?"

Autumn leaves

Geese spotted!!! They were so shy~

Outdoors...Great, shiny, cool weather today!

Hours Of Enjoyment! (6.10.2009)

After finishing my UCAS application and UKCAT exam, it's was such a relief...so I went for shopping with my friend today. I went to Zara, River Island, Topman...to have to look at the new autumn/winter collection. I was enthralled by a gorgeous winter coat at Zara which cost 129 pounds but I didn't buy it. I can't stop thinking of that coat...plan to buy it soon! After that, we went to a doughnut-selling shop in Oxford Castle which was greatly recommended by my friends and teachers...never get a chance to go there although I had been here for 9 months! I couldn't hold myself for desserts and all I could say is "it's the best doughnut i had ever eaten!!!" Looks good and really dellicious!

We also had our dinner in a Spanish restaurant near the castle and it's my first try on Spanish food... It's unexpectedly palatable! We chit-chat for hours there and enjoy the food so much despite of the price! It's good to have a group of friends eating together as we can share and taste every food with just a quarter of the price! We literally tasted 12 different kinds of doughnut flavour with less than 4 pounds...
