Kickoff the Summer Holiday

Being mentally and physically tortured for nearly 2months, for all time here come's the long summer break to fully indulge myself in massive loads of fun. Kicking-off the holiday with loads partying, drinking, shopping, food-hunting, sight-seeing and traveling are inevitable and with lots of plans ahead, I really appreciate these every single bits of my life:

Seaford, Sussex:

Getaway from the hustling London city and adore the enchanting nature scenery. Seven Sisters Country Park is an ideal place to collect yourself and lay back a bit from the cut-and-dried, fast-paced style of living. Looking at those view by own eyes, they just seem so enticing and unreal. With stunning 280 hectares of chalk cliffs, meandering river valley and open chalk grassland where we explored on foot, extremely weary but it all worth in the end!

Brighton:

The iconic landmark-Royal Pavilion

Brighton is a vibrant city with stunning beachfront and packed with people on street and beaches. Stroll along the bustling Brighton promenade and soak up the cosmopolitan atmosphere at one of the funky cafes and bars, relax on the famous Blue Flag pebble beach or try your hand at one of the many beach and had their savory famous fish and chips to end up the day. Having such a fascinating time with great people and the glaring sunny weather was definitely a plus for the day!

I always tend to go for big hectic cities and shun all those places with stunning nature beauty, this trip absolutely changed my mind. The real essence of travel is a seek for a spiritual enlightenment...ogling into the awe-inspiring view of God's masterpiece, wind down your mind and realize how beauty the world is. Travel around while you still can appreciate!

Good Friday 2011

22th April -Watching a free play for open public "The Passion of Jesus" in the glorious Trafalgar Square. The weather was truly awesome today of about 25degree Celsius with the dazzling sunshine without any clouds. Tourists and locals had flooded the city centre!

It was to bring the Christian message in to the heart of London on this Good Friday. The tension and drama of Christ’s trial, the agony and torment of his crucifixion and the joy of his resurrection were enacted by a cast of 80 in an open air play. This unique opportunity took us to see and sense what it was like to be in Jerusalem.

Covering the betrayal of Christ by Judas, as well as the arrest of Jesus and his trial before Pontius Pilate, the play comes to a climax with the crucifixion of Christ and his ultimate resurrection. Although Passion in the Square recounts a story set in ancient Rome, there are plenty of state of the art technology in place to make sure that everyone there can follow all the events as they unfold. There were large screens to make sure that nobody misses out on any of the drama.

The play was ended by a deafening roar of aplause...many people was affected, caught weeping in tears. The whole post-atmosphere was heart-rending with people blessing each other, hugging and hand-shaking.

Intense Revision Mode!

Two weeks left to 1st year final exam...can't think of anything else but to revise like hell now! My room which is unpleasantly in a terribly horrendous state, just like a war-aftermath (described by my flatmates and I'm seriously not exagerating) is definitely not an ideal place to stay anymore. Papers, books, clothes, snacks....everywhere in sight! It seems like library & computer cluster room have became my second home and I'll only be in my room for sleep. Ahhh miserable life, it'll be over soon!

Fervor of Spring with a lil' bit of Fashion

Ahhh great, finally it's spring...loving the sun, warm weather in London these days. It's time to stow away all those thick layers and replace my wardrobe with garments of light fabrics and colour! However, the recurring urge of buying new clothing has incited me to grab every single chance to shop on high streets and even online. I was so entralled by retro, vintage look recently....they are just simply sexy! Try to spice up my wardrobe a bit, all I aim for in the shops are vintage pieces and of course the most leading fabrics of prints, denim and bright colours...try to combine them with new ones and voilá a unique look!

Packing up my luggage in a rush, leaving my room in a horrendous state...gosh I can imagine how horrible it will be on the first day I come back to clean up all these mess! Anyway...it can't be bothered now, I'm in an enlighted holiday mood...skipping all the lectures in the morning n going to Heathrow Terminal 5 now, taking British Airway for the very first time...hope it will be a great, pleasant 8-hours flight with a nice slumber!

Haven't updated my blog since August......hmmm I think it's time to post something before my blog gets terminated.....since the start of the school, I'd been really really busy It's totally different with what I expected a college life should be....full of lectures every single day.....lab, computing session, assignments, revision, test......but I really learned a lot in this short period!

Ahhhh finally a short 3 weeks Christmas break's coming up....it's time for a lil break and have the most fun of it! :D

Day of Reckoning (19.08.10)

Well, the big day for all anxious A-level students in UK has finally arrived! Do or Die, Make or Break, Success or Failure...it's A-Level Result Day! It is indeed the most uneasy day in my life...every second passes like it has been ages! I have to wait until 2pm (7am in UK) for the exam results to go on live on UCAS website.

Finally...the clock strikes 2pm!

My heart palpitates and my hands are shaking...it feels like I'm going to faint in any more second! I try to login to my UCAS track but it just won't work..."The site is too busy, please try again later"...REFRESH the page again and again.......I guessed everyone else's doing the same~

30 minutes later...

Arghhh...at last, I manage to login with my ID and password...and one message showed up:

"Congratulations! Your place at University College London (University of London) (U80) to study Medical Physics (F350) has been confirmed."

I can't believe for what have came into my sight...I even pinched myself to make sure I'm not dreaming! Finally, all the hard work repays in such a good way...and my exam result, I'm really satisfied with it: A* for maths and suprisingly, an A for my Biology, which is my weakest subject ever! I had this bad feeling after my Biology exam, I thought I really ruined the paper and it might shatter all my dreams...but to my surprise, I get 99% for my A2 paper, how could that be!!! Anyway, I am really grateful for everything...all the supports, my teachers, my friends who help me in my studies....everyone and thank you God for hearing my pray and blessing me!

And also, I am really proud for all my friends who did a fantastic job in their exams: Lynne, we will be schoolmates again..wooohooo! Tu, YOU KICK ASS, congrats for all the A*s and getting into Imperial College London...Panich congrats for all the A's n getting in to Warwick..............and many others, Khagan, Kong...we'll all be in London!!! YAYYY...can't wait to meet u guys soon there!

With Dr. Felix, our favourite Chemistry teacher!

Today was a special day for me, the day I graduated from Oxford Bellerbys College and officially finished my A-level course. In a church, all the A2 and foundation students with all the teachers attended this graduation ceremony. We received our certificates and took lots of photos with fellow friends and teachers. I'm really gonna missed u all!

I had so much to say...how grateful I am to study in this school. The teaching quality in this school...I have to say is superb! In a small-class size with just 2 to 3 students can maximise the effiency of study...we can't slack, we can't sleep in class~ Honestly, they are the best teachers I had ever met. They are all genius as well! They all graduated from University of Oxford and two of em' are doctors (phD). So, they can simply answer any random questions that we challenge them~ Many thanks to: Dr. Jamal (Malaysian) who's my Biology teacher, Dr. Felix(German), my Chemistry teacher, Dan(British) and Carol(Hongkongese) who teach me Physics and Maths.
(Not only the students, even the teachers have to be international as well...) Anyway, they are all fantastic teachers who basically know everything in their particular field~

UCAS: University Choice Confirmed!

After getting all the replies from universities, it's time to make a choice now! I really struggled with it, all of the applicants need to choose 2: firm choice and insurance choice, out of all the offers. Although it's still a bit early, I need to confirm my choice now so I can apply for the school accomodation. I don't want to have no place to live for my freshman year!

Firm Choice: University College London (University Of London)
Course: Msci Medical Physics (4 years)
Requirements: ABBe

Merit:

One of the most prestigious British universities.
Excellent ranking: Top 5 university institutions in the UK, also ranks 4th in the world in the 2009 Times Higher Education rankings, and 3rd in Europe in the 2009 Academic Ranking of World Universities.
Located in Central London.
Beautiful, compact school campus, have everything I need there!
England's oldest students' union, over 140 societies and clubs for most sports and cultural interests.

Downside:

I like bustling, buzy city but not for long-term of living!
Stressful, fast-pace of life.
Too many distractions around!
Higher living cost in central of London

Insurance Choice: University Of Sheffield
Course: Bsc Biomedical Science (3 years)
Requirement: ABBa

Merit:

I prefer quiet place, it's located in a green, serence city, Sheffield which informally known as "the largest village in England".
Lower cost of living compared with London.
Many Malaysian students here and offer many scholarships to international students.
Nice and big school accomodation, and yet cheaper.

Downside:

Ranking: Top 20 universities in Britain and Europe. (Much lower than UCL)
Sheffield is a bit faraway, near Manchester?!
Not the right course for me.

Finally, everything's over now...the final step for all this UCAS application thingy is to report my final result in August. I don't hv to worry about anything now, all I need to do is to concentrate in my revision and nail it for my final A-level exam!!!

Countdown 2 months left in Oxford, 2 months left to finish my A-level and graduate, 2 months left before going back to Malaysia...really can't wait for anymore longer!

When all the dramas happened...

Life doesn't always go according to what you have originally planned or anticipated, sometimes things just go horribly wrong and you can't change anything but to accept the truth no matter how harsh the truth is. But there's always an exception...sometimes the fate of your life is on your hand, but only if you have been bothered to try and make change, by letting the only chance of your lifetime to slip away and leave yourself in deep pang of remorse.

I could still remember the day I got a rejection from my insurance choice-University College London for Biomedical Science. I was so upset because I made a terrible mistake, I didn't keep an eye on the minimum requirement for some of the schools that I was applying to and some of them must need A2 Chemistry while I only take AS. Just because of that, I got rejections from 3 of the schools including University Of Sheffield and UCL!!! I literally just wasted 3 of my 5 choices but it's too late to change anything! I was ready to make preparation for the worst outcome, which is going back to Malaysia with nothing at all!

I was anxious, the hope was getting endlessly slimmer as time passed by ...but miracles happened! Weeks after the rejection, I received an email from University Of Sheffield that they are changing the course Dentistry to Biomedical Science automatically for me and offering a place for me straight away without any interviews or replying to them. It's not something common to come across with. Then, I wrote an email personally to UCL to ask whether I could apply to another course or not. I wasn't expecting much from them and I knew it'll be impossible for them to change anything after decision was made...but I just wanted to give it a try! The person replied and he said that my e-mail will be forward to the admission officer to be discussed further. I wasn't expecting them to be so helpful. After a few days of unnerving waiting, they finally replied and informed me that I'll be given an interview soon! Days later, King's College London also gave me an interview for Dentistry. It's such a dramatic upturn. After all the dramas, interviews and again endless torturing waiting for the reply, now I finally get an offer from UCL for MSci Medical Physics (4 years). It's really been a long and winding road! If I didn't send that e-mail at that time...I would only hv choice to go Sheffield now!

Eventhough I didn't manage to get an offer from King's, I am still grateful enough to be called for interview and it's a great experience and a huge challenge for me. Few hundreds or even thousands of applicants competing for 6 places, the competition for King's Dentistry is insane! Now I finally realise how hard it is to get into medical and dental schools in UK as they need to consider so many aspects: predicted grades, GCSE/SPM/STPM grades, UKCAT scores, interview, personal statement...blaaah...and yet give a very limited place for international students. If you don't impress them in any single one of those, your dream'll be crushed! I'd seen many people around getting all the rejections from mdeicine and dentistry. It's not an easy task! Anyway, my plan now would be getting a good result for A-level, even UCL just need ABBe to get in, get a master degree for MSci Medical Physics then apply for Dentistry again for my postgraduate. And luckily, my first IELTS grade is enough for UCL and Sheffield so I don't have to retake it for the second time! Woohoo~ Even my tutor told me that she never meet a student as lucky as I am before after hearing all the things I'd been gone through. I am really happy that everything is finally getting into place now. I am so blessed, grateful and thanks God for blessing me....

Interviews! Offers?

23rd March, UCL's interview:
This was my first formal interview ever, it terrified me whenever i thought about it...but I got to nail em' for my future!!! I woke up in the morning, putting my suit on with a pair of jeans and trainer...casual attires should be enough for this interview. I took a coach to London and underground tube to Euston Square, then rushed to the Department of Physics and Astronomy for my Medical Physics interview. I was there at 11.31a.m, a minute late!

There were 10 students in the waiting room. After a brief introduction, I was the first one who'd been called for the interview...how unlucky! I was directed by a female professor to her office, the first thing that came to my sight was piles of files and paper all over the place. The place was in a mess, and ironically, she's making fun of it! I thought the scene of the interview should be more serious and intimidating but it's not!!! I wasn't feeling nervous at all, I could feel my confidence was peaking. The whole interview was smooth-going, just like an informal chat. I was challenged by some academic questions like: how does X-rays machine work, principle of MRI...luckily I memorize them all! And many thanks to the radiographer in Sibu Medical Centre who taught me lots while I worked there during the last summer holiday...the experience helps me a lot :))

After the interview, we were given a tour around University College London...it's so huge and took us more than 2 hours to just visit some of the campus! The day was ended by the same professor who had interviewed me earlier in this morning...now I just realized she's the head of the Physics Department and she said that I was the only one who had my interview with her!!! Not sure was that a good news or not! In overall, it was a fun but tiring day...made some new friends there and hopefully we can meet again.

24th March, KCL's interview:
Today was probably the biggest day of my life, having interview for my first choice, King's College London-Dentistry course. I had to wake up at 6a.m, dressed up according to the dress code given, in a formal suit which I never had a chance to wear before in my life. Taking the same coach, waiting at the same bus stop, looking at the same scenery while the coach's taking the same route...it was 40 minutes before the interview when I reached London. It spent me some extra time asking for directions cuz I was a bit lost on my way to KCL. I rushed from the London Bridge to the Guy's Campus, and finally made my way to the main building but I was already 5 minutes late! I was asked to fill in a questionaire with some ethics case study while I was gasping for air! The room was in a dead silence and there were just 3 students including me in the room, coincidentally all are asians!

I was the second one who'd been called for the interview. There were two interviewers, a low armchair and a small coffee table in the room...it's quite intimidating! After yesterday's experience, I felt insouciant and fearless in this. Luckily I didn't let the nerves on my way! The interview was about 30-minutes long. All the questions were quite predicted and surprisingly they didn't ask any academic questions...I wasn't expecting dentistry interview can be this easy, maybe I just overthink about it. But the bad news is they just offer 6 places each year so the competition is really high! I did try my best and just pray for the best outcomes~

It was such a huge relief after 2 interviews in a row and it's time for some shopping spree! It will be a waste of chance if coming to London without buying something here. Interviews are really a huge challenge for me and I'm glad that I finally overcome my phobia for interviews! It's a good practice though :)) Put my finger crossed for the offers after 3 weeks...God Bless

Can it be anymore perfect?! With the half-term school holiday clashed with Chinese New Year, I was having a blast this week and finally had a great opportunity to shun the overdue revision, homework...and release the stress and exhaustion building up during the Jan exam. Reunion dinner, ang-pows, and tons of junk food made me feel like home. My mum came to my residence and cooked for me, joined by my friends at residence. Spendid food, lots of revelries, awesome time...and the most exhilarating thing is the Paris trip on Sunday!

The capital, primate city of France, I love everything about this place and it's on my top-list of "the best city in the world". On my first arrival to this place, I was fascinated by the architectural inspiration and the phenomenal scenery. The city's serene and tranquil ambience accentuated by awe-inspiring anicent architecture composed with tapestry of veiled histories, arcane icons and mythical Greek god and goddess statues rose in rigid austerity...everything just blew me away! The transportation system is brilliant, variety choices of cuisines and entertainments...but some of the popular destinations are way too crowded with tourists!

Who on earth will go Paris without visiting this place?

Musée du Louvre is one of the world's biggest museum. To really finish watching all the collections could spend my whole day! It's like a crazy maze inside, which made me lost for a several times...and it's overcrowded by tourists inside, which was a bit uncomfortable. The crowd in front of those famous artworks was insane...you can never imagine how crammed is the place!

When I first walked into the cathedral, I could feel the sanctity and sacredness in the air, along with the harmonious hymn. The piety were praying inside but the tourists were walking around...which was a bit blasphemous and awkward.

For those who loves shopping, the following are the places that you shouldn't miss when you visit Paris...greatly recommended! If you prepare for an extravagant shopping spree, here are the best locations!But still, make sure to keep an eye on your budget because the thing can be quite costly here...but for you can get "tax free" in most of the shops here for foreign visitors anyway so don't be too parsimonious and treat yourself well...at least once in a long time.

31st of Jan:
Guess what is the day today? It's Lynne's and my birthday!!! The day I become 19 and she turns 20~ We went to church early in the morning together with Michael. It's the first time I have been to the church since the first day i came to uk...we took the bus to the city centre and it's really chilly today although the sun is bright!!!

After 2 hours of praying in church, we met a friend in town and went to a Thai restaurant together for buffet~ It's snowing a bit on our way to the restaurant! When we reached there, the restaurant was almost full...but luckily we weren't too late for that or else we have to wait for free seats~ I heard some good comments about the superb food here before but never get a chance to try it out as it's quite costly...but im gonna make an exception today cuz it's ma birthday!!!

I craved for dessert for such a long time and I couldn't stop eating them...basically I wolved down more than four plates of different cakes n gelatins~ I never been so sated in my life before!!! I felt like my stomach was filled to its maximum capacity! We sat there, chat and laughed so much~ There's so much fun... After lunch, we went to Tesco to buy some junk food and then to Blockbuster to rent some blu-ray movies~ It's movie time!!! We watched a hilarious movie- "The Hangover"~ As someone is having exam the next day so we gonna end up the revelries a bit earlier than expected for her to do some final revision~ I even skipped my dinner today...it seems like the lunch haven't been fully digested yet! I really had a blast today!!!

1st of Feb:

Someone finally finished her exam so we planned to do some shopping after the lessons to buy some presents for each others~ I haven't find something I like yet so we gonna look for it in 19th's London trip...then we went for dinner in Pizza Hut~

2nd of Feb:

Another movie day...We finished off the rest of the blu-ray disc that we rent on Sunday. It's three totally different types of movies: Bruno (hilarious), The Sister's Keeper (poignant), and Obsessed (thriller). Bruno is probably the most disgusting movie I have ever watched...it just way too homo!!! The Sister's Keeper is the best of the day! I really can't stand with movies about sickness and death. We all actually get so emotional and cried so much while watching it...it's really touching, greatly recommended! Obsessed is fine though, but I'm quite impressed with Beyonce~ She can actually act...I thought she can only sing but I was wrong~ It was a bit late in night when we finished em' all in a row~

During the week, I have received so much blessings from my friends, classmates n teachers... Thanks guys for the birthday gifts and cards!!! Thanks Miss. Tu for your Starbucks hot chocolate and spend your time for a walk with me today~ And thanks my mum n dad for the Nikon D5000 camera...gonna take lots and lots of photos during the Paris Trip next week~ I have a wonderful week indeed and an awesome birthday this year!

Heavy Snowpour of 2010

Still remember that night I received a call from Lynne:
"Hey, Eddie...what are u doing there?"
"Heya, I'm having my dinner now!"
"Can you do me a favour now? Why don't you open ur curtain and see what's going on outside?"
"Huh...what? ....holy shoot!!! IT'S SNOWING SO HEAVILY!!!!!" (together)

I couldn't believe my eyes, it's so beautiful outside! It's so bright, sunny during the day and it's snowing now, unexpectedly.... Although it's not the first time but we were still so excited about seeing the long-craved snow! After a few hours of waiting for the snow to get thicker, we went outside for some fun eventhough it's a bit dark~ There's quite a few people out there already, building their own snowman...

There's so much fun in the snow...and we get to know one new friend- this 15 years old British boy who passed by and joined us after seeing us having so much fun!

2010 New Year, New Hope

31st, New Year Eve:
I woke up so early in the morning to start my revision. The exam is not more than 2 weeks ahead! Then, my friends came to my room and we had our revision together...it's really more efficient to study in this way~ After that, I came up with an idea of having Shabu-shabu tonight... We went to Tesco and a Chinese foodstore to buy the food and spent a total of nearly £50!

We chit-chat and ate so much for hours...I was really really stuffed that night and couldn't even sleep well! When I gazed above, the sky was illuminated by a "Blue Moon", the name given to the second full moon appearing in a single month for only the second time in nearly two decades! "Once in a blue moon", this is where it's came from huh? Then we ended up the last day of 2009 in revelries and laughters, entertained by a hilarious movie~ What a day!

1st, New Year:
Today the schedule went exactly the same as yesterday. We didn't manage to finish all the food last night so we gonna finished all of them today!

It's already been one year for me to study in UK! At the very first, I didn't have any intention to study here at all, all the things just happened and sometimes I feel like they are so unreal! Living in a solitary life without any companions and help at first, from insecurity to adaptation in a whole-new lifestyle, there's so many things to overcome...and I managed to deal with them, luckily with the assist of some really great friends, teachers from all different sort of backgrounds...I feel like I have gone through so many things this year and learned a lot for sure! 2009 is indeed a solid year for me! My only hope for 2010 is to have a great academic performance and successfully get an offer for the university that I want~ Put my fingers cross and God bless...

25th, Christmas Day:
I wake up so early in the morning and walk to the city centre to move my things out from my old room...moving to my new residence! The sun is so bright and I'm disappointed that it's not snowing today. It's really warm and sunny outside...but I like it though~ The city centre is just in a total silence today! Not a single shop opens today and there's no one on the street...kinda creepy~ In Britain, everyone seems prefer to stay indoor with their family on this day.

On my way home...an ancient church with bright sun shines on, remains in chaste and serenity~

In the afternoon, my friends and I watch movie in my room. Then, it's dinner time! I make myself one British roasted chicken and potatoes with thick gravy on and some ice-cream for dessert...perfect for Christmas!!!

26th, Boxing Day:
This is one of the best day for shopaholics...huge bargains and major discounts for huge designer brands that you can think of!!! Every year in this day, all well-known places for shopping will turn into madness, with people lining up in front of their favourite shop at 5am in the morning, grabbing n snatching clothes in the shops! Even in Oxford, this happens too. The streets are filled with people at 9 o'clock in the morning! I went to Zara and shocked to see the long queue in front of the shop before it's open...I waited for almost an hour there! When the shop's open, everyone rushed into it, grabbing the clothes with huge discounts on...it's such a chaos! In the end, I bought one coat, 3 shirts and a pair of shoes with around £120!

I didn't plan to do any shopping today but I couldn't resist the temptations when I passed by the stores! I even rejected my friend's invitation to go shopping in London with him...now I regret! If I knew I'll buy something, then I should have gone to London or Bicester Village instead! There are more choices, maybe more price reductions but definitely more crowded and terrible traffic!!! Lynne's now blaming me...she wants me to go with her to Bicester Village-a paradise of huge designer brands and now with jaw-dropping futher reductions: Versace with 75% off, Guess, Vivienne Westwood and Jimmy Choo with 50-70% off, Armani buy one get one free....where in the world will get a bargain like this!!! Although It's just 15-minutes away by bus but it's too late now...From now on, I won't buy any new clothes during the year and save it for the 26th of December every year!!!

之後，我和夥伴們去了這裡的Tesco，東西都比Sainsbury的便宜太多了吧~
才知道我過去近一年的伙食費都太“奢侈”了！
買了些爆米花和冰淇淋，回到房間~

我們把新房閒便成了電影院，关了灯, 看了恐怖片“Paranormal Activity"
看完了，有點沉重, 一起下廚吃了晚餐后再接著看喜劇“Year One" 來緩和下...
實在有夠瞎的劇情與對白，真是笑慘了！

~輕鬆，愉快的度過了一天~

雖然只住2個星期，實在很想之後都搬來這裡住，唯一的不便是離校有點遠~仍在考慮中...

Out for Avatar 3D...

After staying at home for 6 days, today I finally get a chance to go outdoors and had movie with my friends...I can only say that it's really freezing cold and windy outside today, with just about 2 degree Celcius!!! We went to buy ticket for movie- Avatar 3D first, which cost me £9.60! The huge crowds outside the cinema really stunned me...I never thought there'll be so many people out there so early in the morning for a movie! Well, this is what a good movie will bring about! Then, we went to a new Thai restaurant for lunch. The food there is awesome! After lunch, we went back to our school to greet our teachers and stayed in the study centre to wait for the movie at 4pm. We'r just too bored there but we don't willing to go out either because it's too chilly outside!

While playing the computers, we were thrilled to see that it's snowing outside! It's really unusual to snow in Oxford at the early of December...but it's good!!! This means that we'll probably have a white Christmas this year!

Avatar is probably one of the best movie I have seen in my entire life! The 3D graphic and sound effects are outstanding! The theme song- I See You by Leona Lewis actually get nominated in Golden Globe Award 2010 just days before the movie was released. When the movie ended, all the audience in the cinema gave it a round of applause! There's a scene which is really touching for me: the forest was burned down by the human and the Na-vi are forced to leave the place. My eyes were literally brimmed with tears. This actually metaphorically portrayed the vile, selfishness of humanity that destroy the natural habitats and exploit them for their own benefits...we surely have a lot to think about after the movie!

Right after the movie, while we were on our way for dinner, it's snowing again!

I gonna pack up now and ready to move out to my friend's residence tomorrow for just 2 weeks!

寒冷的冬天，嘴饞的季節！

曾幾何時我開始喜歡上了烹飪。之前的我總覺得一個人下廚好麻煩哦，不料我前晚竟然上網看了一整夜的食譜。可能是妳的一句話改變了我，朋友們都覺得我瘋了，他們陪了我逛了中華超市，買了兩大袋的食材！他們始終不相信我會下廚，還說放假時要驗收...我就炒了我人生中的第一盤的宫保鸡丁和蠔油超芥蘭菜，結果出乎意料的好吃！

真的全程都是我在做哦！相信了吧~

過了一個多月，媽寄來的包裹終于到了！拆封時難掩雀躍之情，整箱滿滿的食物零食，一字排開的台灣和韓國泡面，好壯觀哦！在我房裏的朋友們都看得傻眼，“也太多泡面了吧!!!" 真的足以然我吃個好幾個月了~

“滿漢大餐”人生中吃過最好吃的泡面了，裏面大塊的牛肉片在額外加顆蛋，太讚了！天哪我又餓了～

香港買的鴨舌，我超愛吃的，朋友吃了都說讚！

台灣“愛之味”冰燒仙草，忍不住就嗑了一罐！太好吃了~

雖然人回不了家鄉，但能吃到好久沒吃到又熟悉的零嘴和泡面時也是种幸福！尤其在寒冷的夜晚裏來碗熱乎乎的泡面當宵夜來裹腹，才能睡得特別好~希望能在這個漫長的寒假裏增重些...

One-Month Holiday!!!

The school holiday is coming up after tomorrow, just half-day of school lessons and we are going to have one-whole-month break! Seems like most of the others are going back to their country during this long holiday. Well, how about me? I want to go back to my place too but the exam in January have forced me to call off my plan. I know I won't be able to keep my focus on revision when I get home...there are so many distractions! But the extra charges for staying in the school residence throughout the christmas holiday is unreasonable. I could have buy a flight ticket back to Malaysia with that price! It's a really tough decision to make...well I know I have to sacrifice something to get full A's this time so no entertainments, no shopping, no trips this time! And hope I won't slack off during the holiday and keep my momentum on...

Bonfire Night In Oxford!

In Britain, the night of 5 November when people light bonfires and have fireworks to celebrate the failure of the plan in 1605 to destroy the parliament buildings with explosives. There will be lots of fireworks display throughout the country this weekend. Without exception, Oxford's sky was lit up by the fireworks for more than 15 minutes long last night while I was eating my dinner in my room.

For this half-term break, my friends and I decided to took a day off to London for a long-craved shopping spree. Our gang leader, Lynne always booked the train ticket for us, just £2.65 per way this time!

There are so many rules to shop in the "world's most famous luxury department store": ensure all clothing is clean and presentable and that shoes are worn, no food, no drinks, and have to keep moving!!! It's so embarrasing that my friends and I actually get urged by a security to keep moving while we r standing and chatting at the main door. He said that we'r blocking the way and the point is there was not much people there at that time!

It's time to get back but we were shocked to see the station closest to where we were was sealed! Well, that's definitely not part of our plan and we didn't expected it to happen...we do not have much time left before the train back to Oxford leave!!! We rushed as fast as possible to the next station and got the underground train back to Paddington Station. But we found out we got on the wrong line! We switched the train and got back to Paddington at the very last minute before the train left! We almost missed the train back and that the most exciting part of the trip! We rushed the whole way through with hands full shopping bags and seems like everyone was looking at us! Embarassed moment but it's fun to run through crowded London streets, underground, and railway stations! In this London trip, I just bought a new phone, some clothes and accessories...but time together with my buddies is the most memorable thing!

This is what it will happen for someone who gets too bored and turns insane on train!

Warwick Trip (Mid-Autumn)

Together with all the A-level students, we went to Warwick by bus today. It took an hour and half to reach our destination - University Of Warwick. The university campus is really beautiful and it balances the calm and beauty of the countryside with the buzz of a social and vibrant community. It is really huge and we literally got lost while searching for the main campus. Within the school compound, cinemas, shops, banks, bars, restaurants, art centre can be found. It's really convenient to study here...but they dont't offer medicine and dentistry course!!!

After finishing my UCAS application and UKCAT exam, it's was such a relief...so I went for shopping with my friend today. I went to Zara, River Island, Topman...to have to look at the new autumn/winter collection. I was enthralled by a gorgeous winter coat at Zara which cost 129 pounds but I didn't buy it. I can't stop thinking of that coat...plan to buy it soon! After that, we went to a doughnut-selling shop in Oxford Castle which was greatly recommended by my friends and teachers...never get a chance to go there although I had been here for 9 months! I couldn't hold myself for desserts and all I could say is "it's the best doughnut i had ever eaten!!!" Looks good and really dellicious!

We also had our dinner in a Spanish restaurant near the castle and it's my first try on Spanish food... It's unexpectedly palatable! We chit-chat for hours there and enjoy the food so much despite of the price! It's good to have a group of friends eating together as we can share and taste every food with just a quarter of the price! We literally tasted 12 different kinds of doughnut flavour with less than 4 pounds...

Yesterday was really a bad and unfortunate day for me. My Nokia phone and card holder were stolen while I was eating dinner with my friends!!! But luckily the thief had a slight conscience for puting all my student, atm and credit cards back into my bag...that's odd...seems like they like the holder more than the things inside. I was thankful that I didn't lose the most important thing or else the situation will turn knotty~

Today was the day I feared to come...the UKCAT exam (UK Clinical Amplitude Test) day! I was agitated as the result will affect my future school, life and even career! The test is used in the selection process by a consortium of UK University Medical and Dental Schools and the test helps universities to make more informed choices from amongst the many highly-qualified applicants who apply for their medical and dental degree programmes.

UKCAT is a test that doesn't require any scientific knowledge...just a test of your logical-thinking skills. Computer-based exam, 5 sub-tests (2 hours long) and the period given for each sub-tests is ridiculously short!!! For the verbal section, 44 questions in just 20 minutes, and the paragraphs were sooo looong!!! No one in this earth will be able to finish the paragraph properly before answering those questions...Random guessing with your gut instinct is probably the best strategy to deal with the shortage of time...and the numerical part was the most tedious part...less than 30 seconds for a question!!! Time is really the sole problem for this test.

This test is just like a driving theory test which you can receive the results straight away after the test. I was stunned when I received the results...it wasn't that bad as what I expected before and I actually got above the average scores. At least now I don't have to worry about being cut off by the schools before entry just because of the low scores in ukcat. Instead, getting high scores be a bonus in application...Thanks God for blessing me...and hopefully I get into the universities I desired for! Still have a lot of work wait to be done! ~Application deadline: 2 weeks left~

Time To Face Dilemma and Reality!

I'm really helpless now, having no idea which universities to fill in (4 choices of universities for the same course and 1 optional course as a backup)...just 2 days left for UCAS application, and I still haven't made a steadfast decision, considering about choosing a campus-based city like Cambridge, bustling city centre like London or Manchester, or a more peaceful n quite place like Bristol or Sheffield...a place that I have to be sure I will be happy to live in for 5,6 years or even more than that! I searched through the university ranking, try to make decision based on that but our academic director kept on advising us that there was no point on looking for the school ranking as getting into any medical school in UK would definitely guarantee us a bright future...well, look at the recession and rate of unemployment these years...kinda worrying...so I just made my decicion(temporary) based on the UK ranking# and location I adore:

1. #12-King's College London/University Of London (Located at a great spot but expenses are high!)
2. #18-University of Sheffield (Tranquil and green place, less stress but a bit far from London)
3. #10-University of Bristol (Historical + modern, beautiful city)
4. #24-University of Manchester (Great bustling city but expenses n fees r high!)
5. (Haven't considered yet)

Really hope I can receive some good news and get into any one of them...God, Please Bless Me...

Alteration Of My Plan...

I just made a decision to take an extra AS Chemistry for my A-level after a long-term of consideration. I felt really sorry for those AS students who changed their original timetables just because of my sudden decision and unsuitability of my timetable. So, from today onwards, I'm gonna have 33 lessons per week and more than 33 hours of lessons in school!!! Gosh...that's gonna be dreadful... I have to pay double or even triple efforts than the others who just take 3 subjects in their A-level courses...hope it won't be a problem. And I even apply for 3 social clubs in a row today. It's kinda weird because I had never been so actively involved in those clubs, society things ever before...it's all just for the sack of my future. Just hope that I had enough time and vigour to deal with those extra stuffs~

With the imminent UKCAT test (15 days left), UCAS application, choosing suitable universities and apply for them... lots of pressure and stress are already starting to build up within me in just a fews days of the start of a new term...wondering if I have enough time to get them all done before the deadlines and well enough. Competitions with local British students are high and harsh so we (international students) need to get everything done before them to really get a chance to stand out and gain a place in top UK's universities. Hope all the things won't all get mess up and hope all those hard works pay off in the end!!! xx Put my fingers crossed xx

Back to UK...Back to school...

After 3 months of summer holiday, I finally got back to UK and prepared to go back to school tomorrow. The first day of school is always going to be hectic with new students so we (AS2 students) won't going to get a lot of attentions from the teachers. We just have to be in school in the afternoon and get our new timetables. (Great for us!)

Long holidays can sometimes be excruciating and terrifying as I will start to worry about forgetting everything I had studied before the holiday...and the fact is I really can barely remember the things I had memorized so hardly before...all for nothing...and sometimes I will start to miss everything here during the holiday, can't wait to come back. The metropolitan city, the nice, cold weather, the peace ambience, the friends and teachers here...that i missed so much but of course NOT THE FOOD! Now I'm back...with a luggage full of snacks and food that I bought from Taiwan...hopefully I can managed to survive for the next 9-months without going back to Malaysia!

這一次的台灣行可説是獲益良多，逛了許多之前沒去過的地點：夜市，地區，餐廳等等...

First Day:
搭乘了早上七點鐘的飛機到吉隆坡，中途在古晉轉機，再飛往香港后到台灣。在香港轉機時，路途中與某人擦肩而過，但是就覺得她好面熟，回頭一看才知道她是范范, 後來又遇到郭靜...等到boarding時才知道原來她們和我們搭同一輛飛機前往台灣...還真巧啊! 後來就找機會和她拍照了。我們直到晚上8點才到台灣...簡直累垮了！

早上台灣親戚租了車載我們一行11個人到處趴趴走~我們先到了他們的家，只能用超熱情來形容他們，招待我們一大堆食物，然後我們開車到九份去，中途去吃了台灣臭豆腐，實在是太臭了！沒辦法接受...一個小時后，我們到了風光明媚的山區-九份...在那吃了超多台灣小吃。傍晚時我們去了基隆，到山上去看超漂亮日落與海景，晚間就去了基隆夜市...但是在是太悶熱了！

After her debut album Spirit sold almost 3 million copies in the UK alone and 10 million-plus worldwide, the global star Leona Lewis is back with her new album! I was on youtube today and shocked to see Leona Lewis latest songs from her new album leaked all over youtube. Those songs are REALLY AWESOME...but I'm really worried about the implications of the leaked songs to her new album as those songs are spread illegally all over the internet. Although it's fine of us, who can't wait any longer, to have to preview of her new album, but it's just not a right way!

Leona Lewis was said to be upset after she found that her four unfinished songs have been leaked online. A source said that one of Lewis’s producer’s computers was hacked. It's a really serious breach!

I hope those leaked songs can be removed from the website as soon as possible, at least for the sake of artists' rights and prerogative. I'd been waiting so eagerly for her new album to release. Famous pop stars, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland also took part in the production of this record. I heard those songs already and I'm pretty sure that her album will top the charts all over the world again. First 3D TV Channel In 2010

Sky is launching the UK's first 3D channel, which will be available to customers from next year. The channel will offer a broad selection of the best available 3D programming including movies, entertainment and sports. The viewers will need to wear "polarising glasses" to watch this channel. However, the users will have to sacrifice their "HD Ready" televisions for a "3D-ready" device, which the company says should also be on sale in 2010. No word on timing, pricing or packaging yet. Really anxious to know when will this one hit the market shelves!

Today I learned and experienced something that I never did before. Early in the morning, I went to Sibu Specialist Medical Centre to be an observer there. I was personally brought by a doctor to visit different specialist department there and observed different specialist in their work. The doctors were really helpful and friendly to me, who was an amateur in there. They introduced me to every assistants there and kept on mentioning im from uk, which is not necessary n quite embarrasing...because they would ask more questions about uk!

I got a chance to see different type of X-rays machines and how they actually worked. Luckily there were not many patients today, so the doctor was free to bring me to the MRI scanning room. He patiently showed me how to operate that giant machine and the images produced by it. Besides, the doctor also taught me how to examine and interpret X-ray films. I examined through hundreds and hundres of patients' profile and their X-ray films, tried to find out the abnormalities of their organs and bones. The whole process was really fun and challenging. I am looking forward for the visit to the medical centre again tomorrow as I'm working there for 3 days.

I also attended my second lesson of guitar class today. After the lesson, my fingers were really pain and torned. "No Pain, No Gain" I endured the pain and practised it for hours at home! Well, I attended the class just for fun, and maybe next week I'm going to attend for piano class too...

After I finished my IELTS exam in Kuching, I flew to Hong Kong the following day for holiday. Although it was the second visit to HK, I still felt excited about the trip. At London Heathrow Airport, I went to a famous japanese restaurant to eat breakfast with my friends before boarding. Then, I was shocked to see a famous Hong Kong actor (張家輝)sitting face to face to us, with a group of tv crew from HK. They kept on looking at us because we were the only chinese in the restaurant so they thought we will recognize him. However, we just acted like we didn't know him and didn't dare to ask for signature from him. It's really rare to see a well-known actor in London...such a surprising coincidence. It was thus obvious that no one know about him in England so he didn't need a bodyguard or disguise himself...

After suffering for 15-hours long flight, I arrived at Sibu airport. Without any enthusiam or excitement, all I felt was the excruciating headache and drowsiness, and yet the unbearable heat wave. How could the weather be so hot!? It's hard for me to adapt the extreme temperature in such a sudden as i already get used with the weather in UK and yet i need to adapt myself for the different time zone. It could take days to change the lifestyle all over again! I felt really terrible at that moment and i could barely open my eyes. It's already 4.30am in UK time and i couldn't sleep throughout the flight!!! However, my parents still persisted in taking me to the restaurant for lunch...but i really didn't have the appetite to eat although i miss the Malaysian food so much.

This is going to be a hard, long holiday for me to go as i need to confront some new challenges and finish some tasks i designated before. I need to take my IELTS exam in July, finish my personal statement and holiday homeworks, do some research about the universities in UK and 2 courses i really want to study in the future (currently have no idea at all) and do some voluntary works to gain working experiences. I'm really anxious about IELTS exam because most of the top universities in UK require a minimum grade of 7.5 and with average of 7.0 in each aspects. If not i need to retake it again in UK...hope i can achieve those marks or higher than that. After holiday back to UK in September will be a frantic and stressful month as i need to apply for the universities. Time passes away so fast that i realize that i have really grown up and need to make decision that will change the rest of my life. Hope i won't regret the choices i made! Put my fingers crossed and hope everything will go perfectly~

At last, I finished my Biology and Physics exam. Today was just an enlivening and refreshing day for me...after suffering for three-whole, non-stop studying weeks...It was really a hard time to go, filled with stress and tense. Although i still got three exam papers of Maths to go but they shouldn't be a huge problem. In today's Biology lesson, we did plenty of experiments...just for fun...really had a great time!

After exam, the first thing i did this morning was shopping! It has been a month since my previous shopping in Oxford cuz really cant find any time to have a look around because of the exam. Now i have plenty of time to visit some of my favourite shops and simply squander away my free time...I went to Zara and Topman to have a look at their latest summer collections and I already spent away 120 pounds in Zara in just a few minutes! (I didn't mean it, really can't control myself...being a shopaholic). There is another thing that keep me thrilled after the exam...im going to get my order of The Sims 3 soon, which is going to release this friday and im going to get it on the first day of release in UK and Europe because i had pre-ordered it since February...im gonna be the first who get it in UK...muahaha!!!

And yet, my plan for tomorrow is go around Oxford with my friends after they have their Chemistry exam to visit some of the famous shops and shopping centres in city centre...we do say that it just for window shopping but im not sure whether i can resist the tempt or not...hope that i won't buy anything that is too expensive but i think tats impossible! As the summer is imminent, sometimes I do really feel like I'm in Malaysia already cuz the weather is so damn hot!!! It's harsh but yet familiar...Anyway, looking forward for tomorrow...Hope the weather will be great n everything will be fun^^

"Alien" Monkeys?

I just saw an interesting article from local newspaper. "Do you ever see a monkey glowing in green?" Intuitively, I will think it's impossible and nonsence for a monkey to glow in dark, but the fact is someone just managed to do it. Genetically modified primates that glow green will pass the trait on to their offspring and could even aid the fight against human disease.

The scientists have introduced a gene into the embryos of the monkey that allows them to build green fluorescent protein (GFP) in their tissues, and these are the first to keep the change in their bloodlines. GFP was originally isolated from a type of jellyfish, which glows green when exposed to blue light. The protein has become a standard in biology and genetic engineering, and its discovery even warranted 3 scientists who discover it a Nobel prize with £800,000.

However, genetic modification raises a number of ethical issues and some people may think it's an act that against the nature. Scientists have managed to modify the genes of many living organisms in recent years, ranging from bacteria to mice, and yet this has been a huge breakthrough for genetic modification. "Antimatter": What is it?

Recently, I'm getting curious and interested about a substance which I knew from the book "Angels & Demons"- the "Antimatter". I thought it was just something created from the author's imagination but after i google it, I'm really amazed by this new , and yet factual discovery.

Literally, antimatter is just the opposite of matter. God created everything in the universe with an opposite: light and dark, heaven and hell, male and female, Yin and Yang, proton and electron...including matter itself...symmetry & perfect balance.

Furthermore, mixing matter and antimatter would lead to the annihilation, convert 100% of its energy into high-energy photons (quantum packets of light), which can just blind anyone who look directly into it. It can create an explosion...large amount could lead to a Big Bang...so someone said that it could be the origin of the universe but it's still a controversial issue and left some mysteries like where do the matter and antimatter originally come from? ...yet, it still need some time to figure it out or will just remain as a puzzle forever... Antimatter is said to be the most costly substance in existence, with an estimated cost of $62.5 trillion per gram. However, don't ever think about using that to make a fortune because making it will cost a few hundred million pounds to produce just about 1 billionth of a gram and the production of it is extremely difficult.

Antimatter is highly unstable. It could react with anything in contact with it. Therefore, keeping antimatter isolated from matter is a challenge, of course, because everything on earth is made of matter. The samples have to be stored without ever touching anything at all - even air. It can only be stored in a specially-made canister, filled with reverse polarity vacuum and with the combination of electric and magnetic field, suspend the antimatter just in the middle, hovering as if by magic. If the canister made has any imperfections, you could imagine the consequence of it...everything will just vanish in just a mere glimpse!

Antimatter could be the energy source of our future. Just about a size of a grain of sand could power New York City for a full day. It releases 100% efficiency of energy, creates no pollution or radiation. It could also be a deadly terrorist weapon. Just a quarter of gram will create a blast radius of a half mile, enough to destroy 9 city blocks!!! Will this highly volatile substance save our future world, or will it turn to be the deadliest weapon ever made? No one knew it, just await for the day to come...

Much of Britain sizzled in the hottest temperatures so far this year, bringing bank holiday weekend cheer to millions of day trippers and holidaymakers. And weathermen said the best is yet to come. After a whole-week rain last week, the weather seems to be sunny these days, with temperatures of at least 20C (68F). The traffic condition will be worse these days as plenty of people were heading to town and city attractions, with 18,000 off to Edinburgh, 15,000 bound for Oxford, 13,500 for York and 10,000 for Bath. Another bank holiday on the last Monday of May. I know it's going to be another boring, long weekends to go so i go to Waterstone Bookstore to buy some books to read during weekends, just want to simply squander away my time in books. There are huge discounts in the bookstore today, buying 3 for 2 price...sounds fair aye? I chose the top 3 books from the "Top 10 books of the month" corner n paid it with a really reasonable price!

Theory of human evolve from primates or apes has always been a controversial issue since Charles Darwin first published it in is book "On the Origin Of Species". Meet "Ida," the small "missing link" found in Germany that's created a big media splash and will likely continue to make waves among those who study human origins. Ida is a critical missing-link species in primate evolution and it is 47 millions years old! At 95% complete, Ida was so well preserved in the mud at the bottom of the volcanic lake, there is even evidence of her fur shadow and remains of her last meal.

"Before people can say 'okay we are primates, show us the link'.

"The link they would have said up to now is missing - well it's no longer missing." With her human-like nails instead of claws, and opposable big toes, she is placed at the very root of human evolution when early primates first developed features that would eventually develop into our own. Another important discovery is the shape of the talus bone in her foot, which humans still have in their feet millions of lifetimes later.

Later this month, it will be exhibited for one day only at the Natural History Museum in London before being returned to Oslo. This little creature is going to show us our connection with the rest of the mammals! Descended from the apes! 'Too early' to say flu virus mild!

A new case of the H1N1 virus in England has taken the confirmed UK total to 28. It brings the overall totals to 24 in England and four in Scotland. It is right that we are preparing for the possibility of a global pandemic if the disease continues to get worse! The latest to be hit by the virus is Alleyn's School in Dulwich, London, where five year-seven pupils were diagnosed with swine flu on Monday.

Three schools in London, bringing a total of 5 in UK were forced to shut down because of the spread of the flu. Around 300 other people in the UK are currently awaiting the results of tests to determine whether they have the virus. The flu viruses are changing their character rapidly as they move through population. We'll see a resurgence of the virus in the autumn and winter when the normal flu season starts. Gosh, please stop this or else it will turn into a disaster!!!

The swine flu virus has been confirmed throughout the British Isles as the UK infection tally rose to 18 and Ireland revealed its first case. A six-year-old girl and the husband of a woman already diagnosed with the bug were confirmed as two latest UK outbreaks after both had recently returned from Mexico. People have been affected in Newcastle, Merseyside, Devon, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, London and Central Scotland.

Luckily, swine flu in the UK is being confined, contained and treated effectively. The good news is we can have a good bank holiday weekend - relax, keep calm and carry on. The bad news is there will be more cases...it will go up. This is a new virus, it's never been seen before. People talk about Sars and bird flu, and that was never the subject of a WHO alert, and we are now at stage five of an alert. Hope it will get over soon...

Nice Summer Day~

A bank holiday is a public holiday in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. Thanks to the bank holiday on Monday, I can have 3-days off during my weekends. However, it's a harsh weekends to go cuz i have to deal with tons of homeworks and lots of revisions. I lock myself up in my room and delve into my books. A couple of times i struggle with the excruciating headache and the damn hot weather! The sun is so bright and shiny that the temperature has rose to 18°C. My room is just like a baked oven...unluckily i dun hv any air-conditioner or fan in my room...

There are also some "free" entertainments for me to watch through my window when i was tired. There are some marching troops, dances to watch...n the funny thing is to watch some old folks dress in traditional Scottish costumes and dance in awkward, old-fashioned dance steps. There are some pipers there to accompany them with musical instrument. Tourists n locals fill the place! I just sit by my window n watch them dance on the road...it's just so hilarious to watch! Then, my friends and i also plan for a London-revisit on Monday because of the train tickets are so damn cheap!

Pre-Med Course in London (25.04.09)

Today, I went to London Imperial College to attend an one-day Pre-Med course there. The college is so beautiful, modern n classy. There r so many people there when my friends n i arrived. We originally thought tat only a few people would willing to spend 90 pounds to attend a course n not many people would be interested in medicine course. However, students who came to attend the course filled the place n the crowd there really surprise me! All the students, who came from places all over Britain, in the lecture theatre were considered to take medicine course in university n a large proportion of them r determined to be a doctor or GP in the future. I finally realised the reason why my teacher said that medicine is a really competitive n yet ardous course to study.

The course was really fun and interesting. I learned about how to suture with real sutures and instrument, taught be qualified surgeons. I also learned about how to read Electrocardiographs, how to interpret X-rays, n communication skills and history taking from a patient. Unfortunately, the course was kept as "private" so photographing n video recording were prohibited! (sucks!) But my friends n i managed to take some photographs secretly without being caught...hehe^^

The course really taught me a lot...not only things about medicine but also about how to increase the chance of getting into top universities in UK, life in university, interview tips n technique, UCAS application, future careers n all kind of stuffs...n the highlight of the day was the revealing of the salaries of different medical professions...I can feel the lecture liven up as the clamour n chattering filled the whole lecure theatre in a sudden. Obviously, humans are more interested in $$$-making...haha... The course really gave me some informations which are absolutely useful in my future n it gave me a basic idea about all those things which im going to come across in the coming one or two years time.

As a conclusion, medicine course is a really competitive and hard course to study. It's full of exams and practical trainings. It really requires a lot endurance and passion to finish the long 6-years degrees plus further trainings to become a real profession in medical field! However, those ardous works may repay lucratively in the future if u really work hard enough!

I just finished watching this movie "Knowing" in the cinema with my friends n ALL OF THEM LOVED IT...I could say i was probably the best movie so far in 2009...At first, i thought i was just an ordinary horror, mystery solving movie but i was totally wrong. This movie includes different elements likes horrors, fiction, love, disasters... There r a lot of spectacular scene didn't show in the trailer...The visual effects n sound effects r magnificent...the story had hidden some messages that we really need to think.

After watching this movie made us realize that we should take account of environmental issues wherever possible or else our future will turn into a disaster...one of my friend even cry while watchin it...haha...really funny...I will definitely go n watch it again n it really worth a watch in cinema!

Spring Has Sprung

The trees started to turn green n the flowers started to bloom. It seemed like a long winter although i had just been in England for 3 months...Finally, the spring had came. The sun shines so brightly every morning n this really enlighten my mood everyday. The period of the daytime seemed to be longer day after day. The sun had already shone so brightly at early 6am n it turned dark late in the evening. The wind was not as chilly as in winter anymore n the weather was so fine.

The first day of spring indicates the real start of a new year...I finally got a chance to really experience the variance of the 4 seasons of a year...n this is just a beginning of a whole new life experience...

I woke up so early in the morning...wish i could sleep a bit more on Saturday morning...After packing up everything, i walked to the city centre and meet my friends n teacher there. It was so quite out there..no people on the street n the shops were still closed. I never feel the city centre so silent before...so eerie n awkward.

My friends n I, just 2 guys n 2 girls together, got into my teacher's car and she drove us to Cambridge. It took a long time to arrive there...nearly 2 hours long...There were a lots of roundabouts on the way to Cambridge, really a lots, each with really wierd n funny names like Hospital Roundabout, Bottledump Roundabout...I did enjoy the scenery along the way...really beautiful

After 2 excruciating hours, we finally arrived at Univeristy Of Cambridge. My teacher dropped us there n we walked by ourselves to places we wanted to go with a map.

We walked to the city centre n visit lots of museums there. There was a lot of people in Cambridge today because today was the University Of Cambridge 800 years anniversary n a science festival was held there called "Centuries Of Science". This festival was held to rise the interest of Brits youngers in science cuz there is really not much scientist in England. I was really honour n lucky to hv a chance to come here n visit different departments of University Of Cambridge n the museums.

"Bang! Suprise..." Full of smokes, flames, big bangs n explosions!!! Really learn a lot from the lecture...

On the way walking back to meet my teacher, my friend n i smelled a nice n heavy chocolate aroma on the street. I looked around n i found a shop tat filled with people...Intuitively, we went into the shop n we found someone was demonstrating the process of making fudge. The awesome chocolate smell filled the air...I could not resist the aroma anymore...I decided to queue up eventhough i knew im running out of time n bought a piece of hand-made fudge back home...It was really delicious but quite expensive...but really worth it....

New Home...New Place...(09.03.09)

Today was the fourth day since i moved into the school accomodation from homestay and i finally get used with my life here...It was located in the city centre...juz abt 5-minutes walk from my school. From now onwards, i really need to do everything by my own hand...including cooking, washing, cleaning... EVERYTHING!!!

I really never do all these kind of stuff before in my life...n it was really hard to get used with at the beginning...but now i still learning...learning everything from the basics. I learned how to cook rice n fry noodles by myself...wash my own wok n plates after using them...having my ingredient list n go to buy them in the market...n how to operate a washing machine...That may sound easy for you n yet u may feel absurd abt tat...but it was really a hard task for me. I was totally inexperience in household duties.

Although it was really tiring n hard, but i believe that all of those hard works should make me much more independent...i hope so...^^

I don't know why these days there were so many people in Oxford. Oxford city was so busy n crowded by tourists. On my way to school n back home, the streets were always crowded n people were gathering around to watch the street performance. There were different type of street performance everyday n everywhere...including street singers, street bands, street magicians, guy playing with fire on street, guy mimicking Michael Jackson....n many strange n funny performances...there was even a black guy who preached the sermon on street wif a bible on his hand every single day...Wierd~

But it was always fun to stop by and had a free entertainment by watching the street performances during the school break or after school...haha^^

First "Horror" Night in Oxford...

Sometimes the soul of a dead person has been so tainted with evil that it is denied entrance to heaven. It must endlessly wander the borderlands between worlds, desperately searching for a new body to inhabit. And sometimes it actually succeeds....Tune up the volume n watch this!

I've just come back from watching this horror movie " The Unborn"in the Odeon Cinema. The only thing i could say about this movie is the sound effect of it really freaks me out!!! My friends n i were being scared for a several times...by a few really freaky n disgusting scenes...the plot of this movie is actually quite interesting n u can feel the intensity from the start of the movie, of course the producer of this movie is Michael Bay...kids under 15 is not allowed to watch this movie...

School Holiday...In London (20.02.2009)

Early in the morning, i walked alone to the Oxford Railway Station and met my friends there. This is my first time to go for a trip with my friends in England. The train arrived in half-an-hour later.

The cabin in the train looked exactly like the plane cabin. I found my seat according to the number shown on the ticket. It took about 45 minutes to arrive the London Paddington Station.

After arriving at London Paddington Station, we immediately took the underground tube to Leicester Square. It took us some time to find the Chinatown there. It was supposed to be the lunch time and im starving. We finally found a Malaysian restaurant and had our lunch there. I miss Malaysian food a lot...

After our lunch, the girls could not wait for shopping so we went to the Oxford Street and have some spendings on the new clothes. Oxford Street was a buzy street and it was so crowded there. Tourists, teenagers and students could be seen everywhere because of the school holidays!!! The girls suddenly turned into SHOPAHOLIC when we reached there...the boys could only accompany them for their shoppings...

After hours of shopping, we could not feel our legs anymore...so we went to Starbucks and had a rest there...but there was crowded too...Gosh! The queue was shocking and the seats were fulled...we could only wait there for our turn...

After some rests, we went to Piccadilly Circus. I felt like i was in the city centre of New York City or Las Vegas when i reached there. Pubs, restaurants and shops can b seen all over the place. As usual, tourists and locals filled the place.

Then, we walked back to the Chinatown which is very near to the Piccadily Circus to have our dinner. We found a long time for a famous Chinese restaurant there and finally we found it. The food there were really tasty esp. their most well-known crispy duck...(Four Season Chinese Restaurant...Go find it in Gerald Street)

After dinner, we decided to go to the London Eye and walked around. It was so beautiful at night and it was just located beside a river. The night scene of london city is really gorgeous...

I was so boring staying at home everyday...just doing homework n surfing internet...without the lessons in school...life could be so dull and boring...

I was waiting so eagerly for tomorrow to come...cuz tomorrow i will have a chance to go London with my friends.... Finally i get a chance to go out travelling with my frens...hope it will b fun...n won't spend too much money on the trip^^

First Heart Dissection in Biology Lesson (12.02.2009)

Today was the most interesting day in school so far...I had done a series of experiments in both Physics and Biology lessons...In Physics lesson, I had done the Hooke's Law experiments with the different springs and plot some graphs for 2 hours. Although it was fun, but it was quite torturing and exhausting to repeat the experiments again and again with different type of springs.

In Biology lesson, it was a lot more fun. I got a chance to dissect a lamb's heart. This is my first time to dissect a real heart and I was excited about it. In my secondary school, we never been given a chance to dissect anything at all! It's really sucks!!! I can't wait to see a real, bloody, pumping heart...but I was only given a frozen, still heart without much blood on it. It was disappointing...but i was still excited to dissect the heart by my own hand...n study the structure inside it in REAL...

I really gained a lot of practical experience from the experiments...

Snow Disaster Strikes Back Again!!! (05.02.2009)

After two warm and shiny days, the heavy snowpour strikes back again in Oxford, in a far more terrible way. The day before was chiling but it did not give any sign of snowing. The grass was green and the sun was warm. When i woke up at this morning and open the window, i was shocked to see the scenery outside the window was all in WHITE, everything was covered in thick white snow. The snowpour was much worser than the days before. Then, i prepared myself to go to school.

On my way to school, i received a message from my friend: "All the school are closed 2day."Gosh! It's too late to tell me tat because im already on my way to school. When i arrived at the city centre, i saw the scene was in such a mess! The floor was wet and slippery, covered with melted snow.

Some workers were spraying calcium carbonate on the road to lower the freezing point of the snow and melted them so the cars can move on but it made the road looked brownish and dirty liked mud on the road. I forgot to bring my umbrella out, the heavy snow dropped on my hair and made me all wet.

Then, i took the bus home again, and it wasted me 4 pounds on the unnecessary ride on bus, and a lot of time stucking in the terrible traffic jam!!!

The Heaviest Snowpour in 18 years!!! (02.02.2009)

Today, the news reported that it is the heaviest snowfall to hit the UK in 18 years and it had caused travel chaos and closed thousands of schools. My school also closed earlier than usual because of the bad weather. This is the first time to see such a heavy snowing in my life. The snows are fluffy n beautiful just like in the movie or tv. I saw a lot of people was making snowmen and snow-angels outside the place i live on my way home. FUN...I actually like this weather because i never get to see phenomena like this EVER in Malaysia!!!

I was shocked but impressed by the scenery outside the window when i first woke up in this morning. All the roof, the roads, the cars and the grass were covered by thick snow. The "downpour" of the snow were crazy, they looked like they were dancing in the air, with the wild gust. On my way to the school, i had to really be careful when i walked because the road is all cover with thick snow. It's really slippery like u can ski anytime u like on the road. I almost fell down a several times on my way to the college and that was really EMBARRASING as there were many people around in the city centre...

I finally get it...my "dreamphone"-iPhone 3G. The price is fair in UK. It's indeed a revolutionary phone with a lot of fun features. Finally i can get rid of my old iPod. Thanks a lot to my mum!...haha^^

This is my first time not having my birthday in Malaysia...In the past years, I usually celebrate with my family n friends...but this year im faraway from my family n my old friends...i thought i will b alone having my 18th birthday...

But luckily, i hv a friend who has birthday on the same date as me...so we went to a chinese restaurant in the city centre and celebrate our birthday together. I really eat a lot on that day n have a great time...Thx to Lynne...n Michael too...haha...^^

Biology Lesson in Museum

Today, I got a chance to visit the Oxford University Museum Of Natural History during our Biology lesson. After a 15 minutes-walk from school, I arrived there with great excitement. This is my first visit to the museum in Oxford. When i first step into the museum, my eyes were captured by the big dinosaurs' bone models. Im interested in dinosaurs n I never saw such a huge, real bone structure of dinoaurs in my life before. I was obsessed by them.

There were also specimens of other animals inside and they all looked so real. My Bio teacher, Dr. Jamal gave us an hour time to "explore" the museum ourselves. I was thrilled. Then, we were given a task to collect as many names of different types of animals as we can n classify them into groups. This was really an unforgettable experience.

i thought there was a fight or robbery happened there when i saw some police surrounded the scene...n some reporters could b seen at the scene...when i walked nearer, i found out the truth:

A Whole New Start in College (5/1/2009)

I stepped out from the hotel n walked to the college, luckily...which was just a few steps away from the hotel, with my mum, my Malaysian fren and his family...

When we were outside, i cant believe my eyes that it was snowing...tiny little fluffy snow flakes withering from the sky...Im excited 2 c the snow on my first day to school...although it was not the first time i see it...

Chilling breeze blew through my skin....i was shivering with cold....

The first day was always the school's buziest day...students were crowded on the stairs n teachers were buzy taking the students' attendance...I thought i would b nervous on the first day 2 school but it wasn't...im actually excited in this unfamiliar place...everything is a challenge 2 me...My Malaysian fren (Michael) n i were directed 2 the crowded common room...for a series of introduction of the school n teachers....

Then, we were taken to another room for an english test....

" R u serious?!" im thinking. This is my first day in this school n im havin my first exam so early in the morning...Gosh! Im hvn prepared myself yet for the exam in such a sudden....i was curious abt the exam...but i was relieved when i realized the exam was easy...just a simply language test...

After the test, I had a tour around the school...the guiding teacher show us the places around the school...i was really fascinated by the old historic, ancient buildings around the school like Carfax Tower n Radcliffe Camera...I finally have a chance to see them in REAL...unbelievable...

I am so grateful that the college is located in the heart of city centre...There are numerous shops , markets n restaurants around the school...Starbucks, KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut n even Burger King are just a few steps away from the school...There are also some big shopping centres around...It is so convenient...n there are many tourists n students around...esp during weekends.

Arrival in Oxford n Introduction of My New Life (3/1/2009)

Oxford is a really beautiful place...
Everything just seems like a portrait in the paint or scene in the movie...
I can't really believe my eyes on my first day here....mayb im dreaming...
I could never imagine i will hv a chance standing on this scenic dreamland...

Im gasping with awe on my way 2 the hotel...

Then, in the afternoon, i went to my host family's house with is just 20 minutes from the city centre by bus.

I really like my room...it's a big room with two single beds...two beds??? Do i really need two beds in my room? It's nice that i change shift bed to sleep every night. Luckily, the room has two big cupboard, which are enough for my numerous clothes n stuffs to fit in n a storeroom too...nice... n there is a big heater, which enough to keep the room warm.

N the most important thing is the wifi...i cant live without it...n luckily the line speed is INCREDIBLY FAST!!! Far more faster than the line at my home in Malaysia...awesome...

This is my new laptop HP Pavilion HDX 18t.

Although the performance is brilliant with 4GB RAM, but it's really heavy and big!!! Normal standard laptop case wont fit in that HUGE MONSTER...I find a long time for the case that will fit in the laptop but FAIL...I just forced it in my Nike bag n carry it around...n eventually my shoulder, my waist, n my back ached terribly after a long time of travelling n walking...Better don't buy it if u insist to bring ur laptop around, esp. when ur going travelling or study overseas...it will cost a lot of inconvenient to you...TRUST ME!!!

London Street

I had a really wonderful time in London. The scenery was awesome n the weather was fine. The railway n bus system were great n systematic. I could go anywhere by train. It's really convenience. I had a lot of shopping in London with my mum. We went from Louis Vuitton to Chanel, from Gucci to Dolce & Gabanna in Mayfair, one of the most "expensive" area in London, which all the brand in the world can b seen there. (Mayfair can b seen in Monopoly Game n it's the most expensive place 2 buy in Monopoly.) There are also discounts everywhere in London. I bought a pair of Gucci shoes with a 70% off price! That's incredibly cheap...

I went to Harrods too, of the largest department stores in the world. Since the death of Princess Diana, two memorials commissioned by Al Fayed have been erected inside Harrods to the couple. In Harrods, the engagement ring of Princess Diana can b found inside...n it's big! London is a paradise of shopping...

I went to the chinatown in London too...local food could b easily seen everywhere...but the price is shocking!!! Plan before you eat...

My First Day in London

My first day in London was tiring... After I arrived in the hotel, it was already 8pm (31.12.2008). I originally insisted to go to London Eye to have countdown there i was really too tired. At 12 am in the midnight,a series of loud explosion of firecrackers woke me up n i can hardly see the air illuminated by the flash of firecrackers. It continued for 10 minutes n it was really noisy outside. The huge crowds outside really shocked me... I guessed i rather stay in the hotel than going outside...
